NAFDAC, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control in Nigeria, will reportedly soon start using serialized holographic labels to safeguard NAFDAC's registration numbers on registered drug products. According to AllAfrica, the new labels will prevent counterfeiters from copying and faking NAFDAC's numbers. N22 billion worth of fake drugs have been destroyed in the past six years and more than 45 offenders convicted by the courts.
