Lobbying for IP legislation changes in RSA

This is a call to all readers for information on how one goes about effectively lobbying for changes in IP (in particular copyright) legislation in RSA, which bodies to use (eg the SAIIPL, DTI, SAMRO, SAFACT, Universities, IP law firms etc), what type of personality is best suited for the role (eg academic, lawyer, politician, speaker, professional lobbyist), when and how such lobbying is best undertaken (time of year, election time, before 2010 World Cup) and how long is it likely to take? Could or should Afro-Leo or any reader have a role?

Grateful if you could please email any suggestions here?
