An announcement on the ARIPO website lets us know that São Tome and Principe has deposited its Instrument of Accession to the Harare Protocol and will be joining the ARIPO group on 19 August.

São Tome and Principe is a member of WIPO and a large number of WIPO and non-WIPO IP treaties, but not of the WTO.  São Tome and Principe makes ARIPO the prime place to be, bringing the total number of member countries to 19, joining Botswana, the Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.  Welcome!
